We Are Little Feminists: Families. Designed by Lindsey Blakely and written by Archaa Shrivastav. This board book is part of a three book set. Families uses real life photos of families to showcase diversity. It includes cheerful, rhyming text. Families was written for babies to age five-year-olds, but it would also be great for reading and discussing with early elementary aged kids. We Are Little Feminists: Hair focuses on race and ethnicity, while We Are Little Feminists: On-The-Go shows pictures of children with different forms of mobility and ability. I’m Not A Girl by Maddox Lyons and Jessica Verdi. Illustrated by Dana Simpson. This book is based on the transgender identity journey of LGBTQ+ activist Maddox Lyons. I’m Not A Girl uses simple language to help others understand what it means to be transgender. It’s recommended for preschool-3rd grade. Find it on Amazon.

When Aidan Became A Brother by Kyle Lukoff. Illustrated by Kaylani Juanita. Kyle Lukoff, a trans man himself, tells the story of a transgender boy named Aidan who is nervous and excited about becoming a big brother.
